Psalm 60

David, who had now established himself on the throne after achieving several notable victories, uses this psalm to extol God’s goodness. This serves a dual purpose: expressing his gratitude and persuading those who oppose his interests to unite the community, which had been divided into factions. He first points out the evident signs of divine favor that demonstrate God had chosen him as king. Additionally, he directs the faithful's attention to the oracle itself, aiming to convince them that aligning with God's will means accepting the anointing he received from Samuel. Throughout the psalm, prayers are raised, requesting God to bring to completion what He has started.
