Psalms 64 & 65

Psalm 64 - This psalm conveys a sense of complaint and supplication. David aims to prompt God's compassion by highlighting the injustices and cruelties, along with the schemes and deceit of his adversaries. In the end, he turns his gaze toward God, hopeful for a joyful deliverance from their grasp.

Psalm 65 - This psalm blends petition with thanksgiving. It predicts the calling of the Gentiles to a shared faith but mainly focuses on praising God for His fatherly care over the Church and the resulting benefits. The Psalmist specifically requests that God maintain His previous kindness toward the Jewish people. Two examples of Divine goodness are highlighted: the strong defense provided to their land and its enrichment with numerous blessings.
