Psalms 61 and 62

Psalm 61 - This psalm starts with a prayer, or at least a short account of one that David offered to God during a time of great distress. Most of the psalm, however, focuses on praising God, reflecting his gratitude for the miraculous deliverance he received from significant danger and for his ascension to the throne.

Psalm 62- Much of this psalm focuses on reflections where David motivates himself and others to trust in God while strengthening his resolve against temptations. Recognizing our tendency to be swayed by worldly distractions, which are fleeting and transient, it highlights the foolishness of such influences and encourages complete reliance on God.
