Psalm 41. When a man is down

•The main theme of this psalm is sorrow, yet the thankfulness expressed at the end indicates that the ordeal has already passed. The middle verses recount the experience vividly, highlighting the true value of the compassion celebrated in the introduction and the redemption acknowledged in the conclusion. The perspective of the victim is always different from that of the benefactor. Only the body of the psalm can truly express how sincere the joy that begins it is.
