Psalm 66

The Psalmist celebrates a particular deliverance on behalf of the Church, but also acknowledges the many mercies God has continually bestowed upon His chosen people. He highlights divine intervention during a time of great mercy and distress, indicating that their suffering under the tyranny of enemies was meant to refine them, much like silver in a furnace. In closing, he appears to draw on his personal experience, using it as evidence of his integrity, as God only grants favor to the righteous.
