Psalm 46

Feb 27, 2025    Pastor Manning

This psalm appears to express thanksgiving not for a specific deliverance but for the constant support that God provides in protecting and preserving His Church. It suggests that the city of Jerusalem, when faced with great terror and extreme danger, was unexpectedly saved by the miraculous power of God. The prophet, regardless of who composed the psalm, praises this uniquely granted deliverance and encourages the faithful to trust confidently in God's protection. He assures them that by relying fearlessly on Him as their guardian and protector, they will be kept safe from all their enemies, as it is God's special role to calm all disturbances.
