Psalm 36

Feb 5, 2025    Pastor Manning

David is being grievously troubled and harassed by wicked and ungodly men, first complaining of their depravity and then seeking refuge in the infinite goodness of God, which extends not only to all people in general but, in a particular and memorable way, to His children. He does this to console himself and, so to speak, catch his breath, with the assurance that he will ultimately be delivered since God is favorable to him. This is evident from the psalm's conclusion, where he strengthens and fortifies himself against all assaults of the ungodly by reflecting that he is safe under God's protection.
