Psalm 18 prt 2

18:46–50. Doxology continued

In verses 49 and 50, Paul discusses the initial prophecy that outlines Christ's mission for Jews and Gentiles (Rom. 15:8–12). While David might have focused initially on glorifying Yahweh, a deeper analysis of his words reveals the Lord’s anointed one (50)—the Messiah—praised among many Gentile worshippers. Any king from David's lineage could relate to this psalm. Still, it is especially significant for David himself, who experienced its truth, and for Christ, who considered his unique ‘offspring’ (with 'descendants' as this singular/collective term), reflecting the ultimate descendant of Abraham (Gal. 3:16).
