Psalm 16 beautifully expresses the joy of centering our affections on God, creating a unified theme filled with passion. If we break it down, the first part from verses 1 to 6 celebrates our chosen loyalty, while verses 7 to 11 reveal the beautiful blessings that follow. Interestingly, Charles Wesley’s hymn, ‘Forth in Thy Name," draws inspiration from verses 2, 8, and 11, perfectly capturing the essence of this psalm with the lovely line: ‘And closely walk with Thee to heaven.’
